Lower School Staff
Classroom A - Janice Davis
Janice Davis came to Churchill Academy with 19 years of experience in working with special needs children ranging in age from Pre-K to 2nd Grade. She has a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Counselor Education. She attended Mississippi State University, in Starkville, Mississippi. Janice has a great love of children and says that her students are her "number one priority."

Classroom B - Pat Cory
Pat Cory has a long history of working with both youth and adults with educational challenges. Over the past 27 years she has worked in resource/itinerant and self-contained positions. She also served as an educational specialist with the Alabama Department of Education developing and refining special education programs. Pat holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts degree in special education. She also has a Master of Arts in Counseling. Her primary goal when teaching is to make learning fun and to show the students that they can achieve their goals.

Classroom C - Annette Sikes
Annette Sikes came to Churchill Academy having taught in the Montgomery County School system for 21 years. She has worked as an educator for 34 years in total; five of these years as a reading coach. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Masters in Reading Education. She received her degrees fromTroy State University and Auburn University Montgomery. Annette's primary goal in teaching is to "see that each child reaches his potential and stretches beyond."

Classroom D - Sherry Taylor
Sherry Taylor joined our staff in 2009. Shw was quite familiar with our program as her son, Alexander, had been a Churchill student since 2007. Sherry received her Bachelor's Degree in 1989 from the University of California and has taught in public school settings in California, Texas and Alabama for 8+ years. She has an interest and training in hands-on math and science, as well as Spanish. In 2007, while teaching 4th grade at Wynton Blount Elementary, Sherry received the WSFA Class Act Award. We are fortunate to have this dedicated teacher on staff at Churchill Academy.

Classroom E - Kaye Pair
Kaye Pair gradudated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Special Education-Emotional Conflict. Kaye has worked for 26 years in the Montgomery Public Schools in a self-contained special needs classroom. She was also the lead teacher at the UA Summer Demonstration Program for 3 years. When she left the public school system and came to Churchill her immediate supervisor said, "She's wonderful. It will be our loss and your gain!"

Classroom G - Pam Brown
Pamela Brown worked in the Montgomery County School system for 31 years. She received a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University at Montgomery. Her area of specialty is reading. Pam believes you must teach with your heart and maintain a good sense of humor. She enjoys watching students gain confidence and motivation once they become a part of the Churchill student body.

PE/Health - Jeannie Wallace
Jeannie Wallace graduated from Auburn University with Master's Degrees in Health, Physical Education, and Education. She's had 25 years experience in the public school system and 10 years experience with Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department. She has been actively involved in the Junior and Special Olympics. In addition to teaching P.E. and Health, she also teaches reading and math groups. Ms. Jeannie believes that "every child is unique and each should be recognized and supported in their differences."

Art - Mary Ann Goodhue
Mary Ann Goodhue joined the Churchill Academy staff in the Fall of 2009. She holds a BFA in Studio Art from Augusta University, and a B.S. in Art Education from the University of Nebraska. In addition to teaching individual and classroom art, her background includes grant management and curriculum development. She also has experience with the integration of academics and multiple intelligence theory into art and art lessons. Mary Ann is a prolific artist whose works include sculpting, illustrations and painting. We are most pleased to have this talented artist and art educator here with us at Chuchill Academy.
