Classroom A - Janice Davis
Janice Davis

Janice Davis came to Churchill Academy with 19 years of experience in working with special needs children ranging in age from Pre-K to 2nd Grade.  She has a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Counselor Education.  She attended Mississippi State University, in Starkville, Mississippi.  Janice has a great love of children and says that her students are her "number one priority."

Classroom B - Alesia Gilliland

Alesia joined our staff in the fall of 2011.  "She is absolutely the best" and "You have a jewel" are descriptions of Alesia per her former supervisors.  Alesia came to us in the fall of 2011 with 27 years of experience.  She holds both a B.A. degree and a Master's degree Mild Learning Handicaps.  She is an animal lover and therefore volunteers regularly with the humane society.  Alesia believes in creating a positive classroom environment in which "each student feels accepted and successful".

Classroom C - Susan Babington
Susan Babington

Susan Babington came to Churchill Academy in 2010 with both her Bachelor of Science and her Master's degree in Special Education.  Before this time she was a substitute teacher for Churchill Academy and other private schools in the area.   Her background includes 15+ years of experience in public and private settings, with both typical and special needs students.  She also has a strong background in program development and grant writing.  Churchill benefits from her dedication and positive spirit!

Classroom D - Mrs. Hall
Mrs. Hall

Tabitha Hall joined the Churchill Academy staff in 2010.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University-Montgomery.  She has taught in Montgomery Public Schools and has completed internships in Prattville Public Schools and at AUM Department of Early Childhood.  Supervisors have commented on her "unrelenting commitment" and described her as a "cooperative, concerned and sensitive team member."  She is also our own Ms. Judy Hall's daughter-in-law!

Classroom E - Annette Sikes
Annette Sikes

Annette Sikes came to Churchil Academy having taught in the Montgomery County School system for 21 years.  She has worked as an educator for 34 years in total; five of these years as a reading coach.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Masters in Reading Education.  She received her degrees from Troy State University and Auburn University Montgomery.  Annette's primary goal in teaching is to "see that each child reaches his potential and stretches beyond".

Classroom G - Kaye Pair
Kaye Pair

Kaye Pair gradudated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Special Education-Emotional Conflict.  Kaye has worked for 26 years in the Montgomery Public Schools in a self-contained special needs classroom.  She was also the lead teacher at the UA Summer Demonstration Program for 3 years.  When she left the public school system and came to Churchill her immediate supervisor said, "She's wonderful.  It will be our loss and your gain!"

PE - Christy Hart

This multi-talented individual came our way in the summer of 2011 and we knew she would be a great asset to our staff.  She attended both Wichita State University and Auburn University of Montgomery and graduated from the later with a B.S. degree in Physical Education.  Not only does Christy have several years of experience in teaching physical education, she also worked at a local day care as an assistant administrator.  In the mornings Christy is our Office Manager and in the afternoons she is "Coach Hart".  She teaches our students to love P.E. through a variety of creative and motivating activities!

Academic Groups, Art and Music - Mary Singleton

Mary graduated from Faulkner University in 2010 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education.  She has a background in nursing, but felt called to education.  Mary "has a passion and gift for working with children" and she "wants to help them reach their true potential".  She has several years experience substituting in both private and public schools with all age groups.  In the morning she teaches our lower school academic groups and in the afternoon she puts her creative talents to work teaching art and music.  We are fortunate to have this passionate and flexible teacher on our Churchill team!

Academic Groups - Tamira Fleming
Tamira Fleming

Tamira Fleming came to us from the Gateway School in Arlington Texas where she taught math, science and computer to gifted students with special needs in fifth through twelfth grades.  Prior to that time she taught for four years with both junior and senior high school students.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee State University and holds a Highly Qualified status under No Child Left Behind.  She has a passion for teaching math and science in a "fun, interactive and multi-sensory fashion."
